Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD JAMES BLACK Ronald James Black died peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Glenboro Health Centre on April 21, 2007. Ron was born October 24, 1936 in Portage la Prairie, MB. Ron spent his childhood in the Westbourn and Portage area. Ron married Mazo Anne Ferris in 1963. Ron and Mazo began their married life in Winnipeg where their daughters, Suzanne and Liana were born. Ron worked at the Canadian Wheat Board until 1975 when they moved to Glenboro and began dairy farming and enjoyed hosting many people from around the world in their guest business. After the sudden death of his beloved wife Mazo in 1992, Ron sold the farm and moved into the town of Glenboro. Ron spent his retirement touring through many countries of the world and volunteering in his church and in the community. Ron had a great love for dancing and will be missed by many on the dance floor. Ron was predeceased by his parents, his wife Mazo, and brothers-in-law, Jim Ferris and Kel Henry. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Suzanne (Duane) Laycock and Liana (Maurice) Vanwynsberghe; grandchildren, Kallie, Alisha, Shantel, Michael, Melissa, Jason and Julia. Brothers, Keith (Margaret), Ken (Heidi) and Ian (Starr); sisters-in-law, Jean Henry and Nora (Don) Ediger and brothers-in-law Carl (Iris) Ferris; numerous nieces and nephews; and by his special friend Dolores Ehnes. Ron will always be remembered for his great courage and positive attitude during his long battle with cancer. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at St. Steven's Anglican Church, Glenboro, MB at 2:00 p.m. Internment following at the Glenboro Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Glenboro and Area Foundation Inc. or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in care of Jamieson's Funeral Service, Glenboro.
