THELMA ALENE (ELINE) WHITTLE (nee MACINTYRE) April 16, 1920 - April 20, 2007 Eline passed away very peacefully in the very early hours of April 20, 2007, at the Delta View Life Enrichment Center with family at her bedside. Eline's wonderful smile and devotion to her family will long be missed and remembered. Born and raised in Swan River, MB, she was the eldest daughter of a family of seven. Eline worked as a Legal Secretary in Winnipeg where she met and married Doug Whittle (1943). They soon moved to Vancouver where they raised their three children, Diane, Karen and Scott. Eline was a dutiful wife and mother but also enjoyed volunteer work, bridge, gourmet clubs, some gardening, golf and travel, highlighted by cottage life on Bowen Island. She faced life's adversities, including her declining health and well-being with great courage, grace and dignity. She is predeceased by her husband Doug, her sister Beth and brother Douglas. Eline is survived by one son Scott, two daughters, Diane (Brian), and Karen (Charles); four grand-children, Greg, Christina, Mireille and Bradley; and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd and Ronald; sisters, Audrey and Yvonne; many nieces and nephews. Out of honour and respect for Eline's wishes she was cremated. Her memorial tea will be held at a later date at the home of daughter Karen Kerr. The family wishes to thank the many medical professionals who helped care for our mother over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Delta View Volunteer Society, 9341 Burns Drive, Delta, BC V4K 3N3; The Mood Disorders Association of British Columbia, 201 - 2730 Commercial Dr., Vancouver, BC V5N 5P4, or a charity of your choice.
