M. A. (ADELAIDE) MARTIN Another Angel has been called home . The death of Mrs. M. A. (Adelaide) Martin of Vegreville occurred Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Vegreville, Alberta. She was predeceased by her husband James; son Daniel; her parents, Alice and John; her eight brothers and sisters, also by her special niece Lois Sorenson. Left to cherish the memory of this beautiful lady are her devoted grandson Kevin (Melody) and their children, Matthew, Jim and Mike; three granddaughters, Kim (Robert Ward) and their children, Christopher, Alicia, and Nathan; Kelle (Yves Cloutier), and Kandace (Rick Klein) and their children, Gavin and Ben; and daughter-in-law Judy. Grandma was born December 13, 1908 in Dauphin, Manitoba. She was the ninth child of Alice and John Buchannon. Grandma loved growing up on the farm, and often compared farm stories with Kim and Robert. She had to learn to drive due to necessity and came to enjoy it so much that Kevin was fortunate enough to be taught by her. Grandma loved to visit all her relatives, and took many car trips with her sister Anne. She was an avid knitter and crocheter, loved to bake and many a late night could be found playing Scrabble with any willing opponent. At Grandma's request, there will be no service, but asked that her ashes be taken to Winnipeg to be placed beside her beloved husband Jim. A special thanks to the staff at Century Park Green Cottage for the love and devotion they showed to Grandma since she moved in there. Also to the nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital for the care and concern during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
