OLGA (OLLIE) KRAWEC (nee MINSKY) December 15, 1927 April 20, 2007 It is with sadness, we announce the sudden passing of dear wife, mother and grandmother on Friday, April 20, 2007. She will be missed by her husband of 59 years Bill, daughter Patricia Goodings, granddaughter Allison, treasured pet Charlie, sister-in-law Jeanne Dureski, brother-in-law Quinton Charney and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Ollie was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Sophia Minsky, siblings, Frank and Ann, parents-in-law, Harry and Mary Krawec, sisters-in-law, Olga, Anne, Olly (Charney) and brothers-in-law, Steve and Steve (Dureski). Ollie was born in Capreol, ON. After moving to Toronto, she met and married Bill in 1947. Following the birth of their daughter, Patricia, she had a successful career as a manager of various United Cigar Stores. After 28 years in Toronto, she and Bill came to live in Beausejour, MB where they purchased the Howland Hotel and operated it for seven and one half years. It was here where they enjoyed the friendship of many people that continued throughout their retirement. Ollie was admired for her many talents, her numerous homemaking skills included entertaining, cooking, canning, gardening and sewing. It was her constant pleasure to search for blueberries and mushrooms. Ollie was kind and generous to everyone who came into her life. She will be missed by all she touched. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Beausejour Hospital for their care of Ollie. Prayers will be said Thursday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue, Beausejour, MB with Rev. Deacon Stefan Tyrawski presiding. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, April 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Park Avenue, Beausejour, MB with a Basilian Fr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, Cook's Creek, MB. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Ollie's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
