SOPHIE RADWANSKI It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Sophie Radwanski, beloved wife of Joseph Radwanski, on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Gimli Community Health Centre. After a lengthy illness, throughout which she suffered silently, she went to her Lord and Saviour. She was predeceased by her brothers, Anton and Henry, and sisters, Ann, Mary, Kate, Victoria and Lena. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Joseph and numerous nieces and nephews. Sophie was born on June 18, 1920 on a farm in Canora, Saskatchewan, the youngest of eight children. Sophie later ventured to Winnipeg to pursue a career in hairdressing and went on to own her own business on Osborne Street in Winnipeg. She met Joe in Hijas, Saskatchewan and they celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2002. For a short time, they lived in Kelowna, British Columbia and then returned to settle in Matlock, Manitoba. Sophie was always a very devout Catholic who believed in the power of prayer and spiritual healing. Her faith in God was deep and her family and friends will confirm she was always a wonderful witness of Christ's love. Throughout her life, she enjoyed travelling, family gatherings and friends. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 27 at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Winnipeg Beach on Highway 9 at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Winnipeg Beach.
