BILL KING Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Sadly we announce the passing of William Chester Debussy King on Friday, April 20, 2007, at Kildonan Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg, at the age of 87. He was born in Winnipeg, residing in Silver Heights, River Heights, and Charleswood for 55 years; retired to San Diego for 25 years; and returned to Vancouver and Winnipeg for his last five years. His earlier summers were spent at Sandy Hook. The last 55 summers were spent building and enjoying his beloved family cottage at Falcon Lake. Among other interests, Bill loved the piano, bridge, golf, and skiing. He was a respected and successful accountant with Macleod's for many years. Bill touched many lives as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was at his happiest sharing moments with them. Bill's children: Stan (Jo-anne), Marlene (Don Pontifex), Cyndy (Jim LeVander), Larry (Marianne), his sister Marion Andrew, his eight grandchildren, his four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his many friends, will forever love and cherish his memory and the selfless devotion he had for everyone. He is predeceased by his loving wife Joan (nee Plews) of 60 years, his sister Pat Hamilton, and his brother Don. From the bottom of their hearts, his family would like to thank their Dad's many caregivers at Kildonan Personal Care Centre and also at his residences, especially George Shirtliffe, Jim Ducharme and Carmelita Garcia. Their kindness, warmth, and compassion made his recent years more enjoyable. Bill's ashes will rest at Falcon Lake. Memorial service on Saturday, April 28 at 3:30 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave. W. (224-1525).
