ROMEO HLADKI JR. January 4, 1937 April 24, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Romeo, on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Pinawa Hospital. Surrounded by his family, he died peacefully after a short and courageous battle with leukemia. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 50 years Eleanor; their children, Wayne (Glenda), Mike (Josie), Jim (Janet) and Carol (Marcel); grandchildren, Jason (Candice), Everett (Lana), Michelle, Cody, Clayton, Mark and Chantal; great-grandchildren, Lukas, Kaitlyn and Courtney. He is also survived by brothers, Bill, Jerry (Cecilia), Del and Donnie (Norma) and sisters, Agnes (Ben) and Patricia, sister-in-law Violet (Jim), brothers-in-law, Roger (Gloria) and Julian, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Romeo operated a trucking and taxi service very successfully for over 35 years with a very strong work ethic and quality to be admired by everyone. Prayers will be held on Friday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church in Lac du Bonnet, MB with Rev. Fr. Mirek Szynal presiding. Viewing will take place one half hour prior to service. Pallbearers are Donnie Hladki, Marcel Fortin, Jason Hladki, Everett Hladki, Cody Hladki and Clayton Hladki. Eleanor and the family would like to thank Drs. R. Van Gend and Ayad and nursing staff at the Pinawa Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Romeo's memory to the Pinawa Palliative Care, CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
