RUDI KRNJAK It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rudi Krnjak, on April 25, 2007 at the age of 71. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 47 years, Frances; his son Boris (Diane); grandson Colton; brother Joe Krnjak (Milka) and sister Paula Znidaric of Melbourne, Australia; sister Marija Cudina from Germany; cousin Tony Klainchar (Janine); along with many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Rudi was predeceased by his parents, Stefan and Maria; his sister Katica and brother Ivan. Rudi was born in Slovenia on April 16, 1936. Rudi met Frances in 1955 and were married in 1959. In 1964 Mom and Dad moved to Canada. Shortly after in 1966 they welcomed the arrival of their only son Boris. Rudi worked for Motor Coach Industries as a brake operator from 1965 to 1998 until his retirement. Rudi was always there for his family and friends for whatever they needed. Rudi worked countless hours in the Slovenian community, being a proud member of the Slovenian Club of Manitoba and rarely said no if he was asked to help out in any way. Rudi worked many long days and nights at the Slovenian farm and Folklorama's Slovenian-Ljubljana Pavilion doing what he loved, barbequing whole pigs. After his retirement, this was done just for fun for family or friends special occasions. Rudi also loved the outdoors, and enjoyed going camping with the family trailer or just go fishing with his son for the day. He also liked to just sit in the backyard with family, friends and neighbours. He was quite a handy man, always working on several projects around the home. But Dad's greatest joy was the birth of his grandson Colton in 2000. Dad enjoyed spending time with his Little Buddy going for walks and visiting around the neighbourhood. He couldn't get enough of him. The family would like to thank Dr. Harding and Dr. Ahmed along with the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and the Palliative care program for all the support during Dad's illness, as well as to Dr. Hugh Taylor for all his support. We would also like to thank all who came to visit Dad at home, as these visits always brought a smile to his face. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m., with viewing one hour prior, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Randy Klainchar, Jason Klainchar, Chris Collins, Branko Maligec and Honorary Pallbearer Milan Horvat. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rudi's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
