Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDNA MARY GRAHAM 1924 - 2007 It is with profound sadness that the family of Edna Graham announces her sudden passing April 25, 2007 at the age of 83. Edna is survived by her son Angus (Debbie) and daughter Laura Millar (Craig) and her grandchildren, Graham McKerrell (Lori) and Eric Graham and great- granddaughter Taryn McKerrell. She also leaves to mourn her sisters, Audrah Caughell of Minnedosa, Manitoba and Donna Thomson of Connecticut, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. Edna was predeceased by her husband Eric Graham, her grandson Kris Graham and her brother William Angus Grant. Edna was born February 5, 1924 in Minnedosa, Manitoba. Upon graduating from high school, Edna moved to Winnipeg. Always a lover of sports and a great athlete, she met her husband Eric in 1946 while curling for the opposing team. Their marriage of over 40 years was a partnership of love, respect and mutual admiration. Their union was an inspiration to all, especially her family. From 1948 to 1964 her life took her from Winnipeg to Brandon, Stony Mountain and back to Winnipeg. She and Eric eventually moved to Pinawa in 1964, where she has resided ever since. From the years of 1958 to 1962 Edna supported her husband and their two children while working at United Grain Growers. At this time Eric went to university to become a Professional Engineer. Edna never discussed the sacrifices of those years, only the joy of pursuing their dream. In Pinawa Edna found her home. Always a lover of literature, she was Head Librarian for 25 years at the Pinawa Library. She always said being surrounded by books every day was not work, it was pleasure. She was untouchable in the Arts and Literature category in Trivial Pursuit, a family favourite. Edna was a strong, determined and intelligent woman, who always had strong principles. In 1973 and 1977 she was elected to the Pinawa Town Council where she tirelessly worked to protect the beauty and tranquility that Pinawa had to offer. The many recreational opportunities in Pinawa gave Edna's life a wonderful balance. A long time member of the Pinawa Golf Club, Edna was Ladies Club Champion 10 different years. An avid cross-country skier, she won many awards in the senior games. She also enjoyed duplicate bridge, and with her husband Eric, often walked away as the top team. Through her life she was a devoted Mother, Wife and Nana, who surrounded her family with unconditional love. She will truly be missed. Words cannot fill the void of her loss to her family. A memorial service will be held at Wilderness Edge Retreat and Conference Centre, 32 Burrows Road, Pinawa, MB in the Manitoba Room on Sunday, April 29, 2007 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. East, Beausejour, MB.
