Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE (KAY) DANKO Peacefully, with her loving family surrounding her, Catherine Kathleen (Kay) Dankow (nee Swiderski), left us at noon, on April 25, 2007 at the Riverview Health Centre, here in Winnipeg. Kay was born on July 14, 1909 to Michael and Rose Swiderski and brought up in Souris, MB. She married John Danko on November 14, 1931 and together they raised their son Donald. Kay was an active member of the Catholic Women's League for many years and belonged to Blessed Sacrament Church in Transcona. Kay leaves us to rejoin her husband John (predeceased in 1975); sisters, Stella and Emily; brothers, Peter, Frank, Mike, Tom and John; and her many friends that passed before her. Left to mourn her loss are her beloved son Donald and daughter-in-law Della; her grandchildren, John (Shelley), Kathie, Anne (Petr), Donna, Mark (Yang); and great-grandchildren, Peter, Michael and Katherine. Kay is also survived by her sister Alice Farrar; sister-in-law Pat Swiderski; niece Ellen (George) Harbin; and cousins, Bob and Cathy Laye. Throughout her 98 years, Katherine enjoyed her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with gatherings, events, games and our traditional Sunday family dinners. We wish to thank the many staff and volunteers at Riverview Health Centre on D1 and 3 West for their thoughtfulness and caring. Carmen, Lou Mary, Erlinda, Maureen, Carol, Dean, Big Dean , Armand, so many others, you have made the past two years of Katherine's life a gift of love, laughter and finally, peace.
