GEORGE SLATER 1921 - 2007 Peacefully on April 22, 2007, George passed away at Concordia Place after a long illness. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Iris, his sons, Donald (Terry), James (Glori) and David (Toresa), his six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Riley, Ariel, Cody, Corissa and Colten; brother-in-law Winston Vaughan (Denise), nephew Darren (Amy), sister-in-law Helen Slater and niece Phyllis Arthur. George was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Alexandra; brothers, Victor and Stafford and sister Evelyn. George was employed by Canadian Pacific Railway for 37 years retiring in 1984. George was also self employed in the field of TV repair and serviced East Kildonan and other surrounding districts for nearly two decades. George had a love of travel that was evident by the many family trips, whether to the Pacific West Coast or our nation's capital, the Grand Tetons of Wyoming, the ancient columns of Rome, or the pounding surf of the Hawaiian Islands, for George it was always about getting there. The family also enjoyed many seasons by the lake at Spruce Sands Trailer Park before building a cottage at Traverse Bay. George, being a keen angler, always took delight in coming home with fresh fish for his family. When he wasn't providing for the family, George liked to bowl at Mosienko Lanes. A longtime bowler with many trophies to his credit his style will be missed on the alleys. We love you husband, father and grandfather and we hold your memory dear. Flowers gratefully declined.
