Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY PAYONK (nee KOSACK) February 17, 1908 April 25, 2007 With her daughter by her side, Mary passed away on April 25 at the age of 99 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Frank (Bernice), Joe (Mary), Walter (Del) and Doreen Louise (Josef); grandchildren, Rob, Greg, Carol, Debbie, Wendy, Lori, Deneen, Christeen, Jodeen; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, a brother Fred and a sister Anne. She was predeceased by her husband Tony; children, Victoria, Grace, and Charles; daughter-in-law Pat; grandchild Gary; parents, William and Anastasia Kosack; nine brothers and one sister. Mary was born in Libau, MB, the eldest of 13 children of the late William and Anastasia Kosack. At 16 she married Anton Payonk. They farmed near Libau until 1943 when they moved to Winnipeg. Mary then began work as a seamstress at National Cloak, retiring in 1970. Mary shone in her golden years when she bowled at Windsor Park Lanes, winning many trophies. She loved gardening (passion roses and dalias) and enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family. Mary will be lovingly remembered by family and friends who enjoyed her company and humour. Many thanks to the nursing staff at Middlechurch PCH for their care and support. Prayers will be held on Sunday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church 361 Burrows Ave., Winnipeg with The Very Rev. Msgr. Wes Cwieka officiating.
