Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORNA BEAUCHAMP (NUNN, SABLE) (nee GILLARD) October 29, 1920 - April 2, 2007 Lorna Nunn Sable, a 30-year Peninsula resident, died April 2 at Westland House at the age of 86. Born to Canadian parents on October 29, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY, she moved to Canada in 1927. Lorna was raised in the Sault St. Marie and Kenora, ON and Moose Jaw, SK, Canada and was a graduate of Moose Jaw High School. Following graduation from business college, Lorna was a secretary for Air Canada in Winnipeg. In 1946, she married George Beauchamp and, in 1950, they moved to Sacramento. Lorna married Jack E. (Bud) Nunn in 1954 and was a loving stepmother to his sons, Clyde, Jeff and Brian. She was secretary for St. John's Lutheran Church in Sacramento for over 20 years. She was a realtor with Monterey Peninsula Associates, owned by Roy Pohlmann, in the 1980s, specializing in the Skyline Forest area. In 1997, Lorna was happily married to jeweler, Louis Sable and resided with him in Pebble Beach until his death in 2001. A gifted artist, she created beautiful seascapes and woodland scenes in oil. Lorna was also an active volunteer at the Discovery Shop in Pacific Grove. Her fondest dream was to move to New York City. After suffering a stroke in December of 2002, Lorna lived at Agape Residential Care in Carmel. She loved the many pets there, adopting Lola, Pepper and Jock as her own. Her family wishes to thank Miriam and Herman Fickewirth, Barbara Lewis, Christian and the other faithful caregivers at Agape for their loving care of Lorna. Lorna is survived by her sister Margaret Peggy (Alex) Colonello of Winnipeg; her step-sons, Clyde Nunn of Placerville, Jeff Nunn of Mt. Angel, OR and Brian Nunn of Bloomington, OR; her granddaughters, Kristina and Melisa Nunn and her cousins, Joan Collum of Kingston, ON and Hugh Logan, Madison, TN. A Celebration of Lorna's life was held at The Little Chapel by-the-Sea, 65 Asilomar Blvd., Pacific Grove on Thursday, April 5 at 1:00 p.m. Following cremation under the direction of The Paul Mortuary, her cremated remains will be scattered at sea.
