MILDRED LESCHASIN nee GLUSHKA Peacefully, on Thursday, April 19, 2007, Mildred passed away at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, with her family by her side, at the age of 84. Mildred was born in the Rossburn district on January 11, 1923, the second youngest of five sisters and two brothers from parents Michael and Mary (nee Trakalo) Glushka. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Peter; parents, Michael and Mary; sisters, Frances Shwaluk, Teenie Sicinski and Natalie Velnar; and brothers, John and Metro. Mildred will be forever missed by son Rod and wife Joy, son Norman and wife Linda, son David and wife Carol Ann, daughter Jane and Wayne Cummins, and daughter Myrna; nine grandchildren: Derek, Sara, Kelly, Jennifer, Mandy, Dan, Gillian, Brittany and Mackenzie; one great-grandchild Shelby; sister Alice Hrubeniuk; sisters-in-law, Mabel and Nettie Glushka, Carol and Kay Leschasin, Marie Howard, and Nell Yuriy; and many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. The funeral service was held on April 23, 2007 in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rossburn, with Father Edward Evanko officiating. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Mildred's unconditional love and giving nature, sense of humour, and devotion have helped us all and will always be remembered in our hearts. Forever adored and loved by her friends and relatives, Mildred would want us to keep singing, dancing, taking care of each other, and having a wonderful life.
