LAWRENCE (FIDEL) MCPHERSON May 11, 1925 - April 25, 2007 On April 25, 2007, Lawrence (Fidel) McPherson, from Peguis, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Saviour, at the age of 81, with his loved ones at his side. Lawrence leaves to mourn his loving wife, Florence; his sons, Larry (Peggy), Garnet, Howard (Karen), Barry (Gayle), Elmer (Pat) and Gordon (Carrie); his daughters, Dolly (Terry), Alma (Gil), Diane (Marvin), Linda (Sig), Gloria (Russell) and Betty Ann. He is survived by his sister, Eileen; 39 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. His close friends will miss him too. Lawrence was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Mary Jane; his brothers, Charlie, Allan, Graham, Cyril, Morris, Colin and Albert; his sisters, Mary, Kathleen and Gertrude. Lawrence was also predeceased by two sons, Richard and Kelly; grandson Manny and great-granddaughter, Kristen. Lawrence spent most of his life in Winnipeg where he worked as a landscaper until he retired. Then he moved back to Peguis. When Lawrence was tending his flowers, garden and lawn, he was very happy. He transplanted over a hundred trees around his property. Lawrence will always be remembered as one of the best hockey players in Fisher Branch, where he played when he was young. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Peguis Senior Home and to the Doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital for their special care. Also, they would like to thank the Chief and Council, community members and the Anderson Family for their help and thoughtfulness. A service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Wide World of Faith Church, 465 Alexander Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Another service will occur on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at Lawrence's residence in Peguis, MB. The Funeral service will take place on Monday, April 30, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Peguis, MB. Rev. Ron Favel and Pastor Marvin Simmons will officiate. Interment will follow at the Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Lawrence's sons, Larry, Garnet, Howard, Barry, Elmer and Gordon.
