PETER KLASSEN 1926 - 2007 On Friday, April 27, our Dad passed away peacefully at 81 years of age. He is survived by his five children, Susan (David) Unruh, Christopher, Mark and Heather; David (Irene) Klassen, Leanne, Lauren, Lesley and Lisa; James (Deborah) Klassen, Nicole and Laura; Thomas (Teresa) Klassen, Sara and great-grandchild Danika, Erica, Monica and Anna; Ruth Burchuk and son Evan. He is also survived by two brothers and six sisters all in BC, being predeceased by two brothers. Dad had two distinct careers as could be seen on his business card, PK Landscaping and Music . He taught Music at MBBC for 17 years followed by 25 years of landscaping. One of the highlights of his career was restoring the English Gardens at Kennedy House in St. Andrews. To this day many people enjoy the rock gardens he created for them. Dad's many interests included hiking in his beloved Rocky Mountains, travelling, reading, and writing. He was involved for many years at The Church at Pine Ridge and greatly appreciated the community he found there. As well, Dad gave generously of his time to help others in many different capacities. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Donwood Personal Care Home for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided. Their concern for the comfort and well-being of Dad and our families this last week was very meaningful. Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, April 30, 2007 at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. After a private family burial, a luncheon and time of sharing will be held at The Church at Pine Ridge, Garven Road and Highway 207 on Tuesday, May 1 at 11:30 a.m. Donations in Dad's memory may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9.
