ALINE BRUNET (née HEBERT) 1922 - 2007 Aline Brunet a rejoint son époux Pierre devant l'éternel ce vendredi 27 avril. Mariés depuis 57 ans, Pierre n'était guère parti un mois qu'elle est allée le retrouver. Aline est née en Saskatchewan, deuxième fille d'Annette Dubuc et de Stolanus Hébert. Ayant connu la misère des années trente sur la ferme familiale à Radville, son désir de s'éduquer l'a menée à St. Boniface, où ses efforts furent couronnées par son admission à l'école Normale en 1939. Elle ira enseigner dans divers villages de la province jusqu'à son mariage en 1949. Suivent des années consacrées à sa famille avant de renouer avec l'enseignement, carrière reprise avec enthousiasme. Une belle et longue retraite à l'Accueil Colombien s'ensuit jusqu'à ce que son état de sante la mène au Centre Taché. Une profonde foi chrétienne éclaira chaque aspect de la vie d'Aline. L'église et plusieurs organismes ont pu profiter d'un engagement et d'actions qui ne se comptent pas. Perfectionniste, Aline entreprenait ses projets et ils étaient nombreux avec une énergie remarquable. Touche-à-tout passionnée, tout lui réussissait. Une fois décidée, rien n'était à son épreuve. Son appétit pour la culture était vorace. De plus, elle ne pouvait s'empêcher de partager son enthousiasme pour la musique, les lettres et les arts: en premier lieu avec ses enfants, et puis avec des vagues successives d'élèves, principalement au Collège Louis-Riel. Plusieurs de ces élèves furent touchés par son ardeur et par sa compétence. Aline laisse dans le deuil ses enfants, Bernard, Jean-Pierre, Marie, Monique, Charles et Suzanne; ses soeurs, Rollande Guilbault et Irène Titus; ses frères, Louis et Maurice Hébert; et 19 petits enfants. Les prières auront lieu en la Maison Funéraire Coutu, 680 rue Archibald, le mardi 1er mai, dès 19h30. Le lendemain auront lieu les funérailles, célébrées en la Cathédrale de Saint-Boniface, à 10h30. L'inhumation au Cimetière de St-Boniface suivra la célébration. Veuillez compenser l'envoi de fleurs par un don en son nom au Centre Taché, en reconnaissance pour les soins attentifs prodigués pendant tant d'années. ALINE BRUNET (née HEBERT) 1922 - 2007 On Friday, April 27, 2007, Aline Brunet went to join her loving husband of 57 years Pierre, himself having passed away only a month ago. Aline will first be remembered as a sister on the family farm, growing up during the dust-bowl depression of the 1930s in Radville, SK. Then, academic ambitions brought her to St. Boniface to enroll in Winnipeg Normal School where she prepared for the profession of teacher, a role that she exercised in rural communities of Manitoba before her marriage to Pierre Brunet, and again later in life, after raising her six children. After retirement, she and Pierre settled into l'Accueil Colombien where they resided for many blissful years. Eventually, illness forced them to move to Taché Center for their last years. First and foremost, Aline was a woman of deep faith. Her faith infused her whole being as wife and mother. The Church and its many organizations benefited from her lifelong commitment. Aline's boundless energy had many outlets with one overriding characteristic: she always strove for excellence, and her passionate nature along with her creative talents gave birth to many undertakings. A woman of culture, she shared her taste for music, literature and the arts with her children as well as throngs of students over the years, mainly from Louis-Riel Collegiate. Many of her students remember her as a dedicated and inspiring teacher. She is mourned by her children, Bernard, Jean-Pierre, Marie, Monique, Charles and Suzanne; by sisters, Rollande Guilbault and Irène Titus; by brothers, Louis and Maurice Hébert; and 19 grandchildren. Prayer vigil shall be held at Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald St. on Tuesday evening, May 1st at 7:30 p.m. Funeral liturgy shall be held on the following day, Wednesday, May 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Cathedral. Interment to follow in St. Boniface Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Taché Center, where she and Pierre received kind care to the end from the wonderful staff.
