Date of Passing: Apr 27, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACK DOUGLAS ISFELD It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doug Isfeld on Friday, April 27, 2007, at the age of 57 years, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 37 years, Shelley; sons, Alan and Doug (Kathy), and his mother Margaret. He was predeceased by his father Eyjolfur (Avie). Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers and sisters, Margaret Ann, Deanna (Cec), Laura (Al), Bryan (Linda), Jean, Charlie (Marilyn), and numerous nieces and nephews. Doug was born on April 6, 1950 in Winnipeg Beach, MB where he spent most of his life. Doug worked as a commercial fisherman on Lake Winnipeg with his brother Charlie. Being a fisherman allowed him to do all the things he loved, the freedom of being outdoors, hunting, fishing, working on the yard and working on things at his leisure. Doug was a devoted husband and a loving father. He was always there to offer guidance or use his sense of humour to make everyone laugh. His compassion and genuine personality drew people to him. A private family gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. We would like to thank all the friends and family for their loving support and thoughtfulness through the difficult times, also thanks to Dr. Stimpson, Dr. Czaykowski and Dr. Montoedi and her staff. Special thanks to Carol Gwizdak for her nursing care and kindness. Even though you are gone you will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
