Mom was born and raised in Shorncliffe, MB and married the boy next door. Charlie and Frances were married in 1939 on her birthday February 4 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1989. Mom and Dad moved westward in the mid 1940s, first to Camrose, AB and then onto the Okanagan, settling in Okanagan Mission. There they worked in the orchards and vineyards. As they aged, they moved into Kelowna where Mom found work as a housekeeper and Dad worked at a nursery. Prior to retirement, they worked together at the local Macleod's Store. A few years after, Dad passed away in 1989 and Mom moved back to Manitoba coming to live with us in Prawda. Eventually, poor health forced her to move into the Whitemouth Personal Care Home where she lived until her demise. Our very special thanks go out to Dr. Spence, the nurses and all the staff at the Whitemouth Personal Care Home for all their excellent and compassionate care throughout her stay. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour with Rev. Fr. Mirek Szynal presiding.
