SHIRLEY GAUNT May 17, 1938 - July 30, 2004 Shirley is survived by sisters, Ruby Quinn and Barbara Rady, and niece Crystal Rael, all of whom live on Vancouver Island, BC, in Nanaimo, Qualicum Beach and Victoria, respectively. Shirley was employed in the early 1960s at the Charterhouse Hotel in Winnipeg. She left Winnipeg in 1963 to pursue a career in California. In San Francisco, she worked for many years with Transamerica Corporation, briefly at the United Nations in Geneva, and subsequently, with the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper. A remembrance reception will be held May 14, 2007 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the Manitoba Room at the Charterhouse Hotel. A welcome is extended to relatives, friends, colleagues, classmates, musician associates, skate dance partners, or others who recall a very talented individual. Her remains will be interred with her parents, Mary and Charles Gaunt, the following day in a private ceremony at Brookside Cemetery.
