Throughout their 60 years of marriage Frank and Eileen shared a special relationship, deeply committed to each other's well-being. They genuinely earned the nickname lovebirds though their devotion to each other and their thoughtful, caring gestures of love and commitment. Frank was born on September 17, 1906 in Maple Grove, ON. He served in the R.C.A.F. from June 1940 until June 1945. Frank married Eileen Mildred Brown on August 17, 1946. They resided in Saskatoon for many years before moving to Winnipeg in 1965. As a member of Cornerstone (Oakview) Baptist Church for over 40 years, Frank served in various capacities. Thank you to the many caring friends from the congregation, who visited Eileen and Frank at their residence over the past few years, sent cards and phoned them. Frank turned his hand to many trades and tasks over the years, from farmhand, salesman, and office worker to accountant. He retired from Canadian Co-operative Implements Ltd. in 1975. Frank and Eileen travelled by car across Canada and the USA during their retirement years exploring the history and culture of the countries while visiting family and friends along the way. Frank celebrated his 100th birthday in August 2006. Frank's passing marks the end of his line in the Doan family tree. He leaves his family and friends memories of a special man of faith, courage and strength of character. Eileen and the family are appreciative of the attentive and thoughtful care by the staff and companions at the Convalescent Home where Eileen and Frank have resided for the past three and a half years.
