ANNE TUCKER It is with great sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother, and Baba, Anne Tucker (nee Pinsk), at St. Bonifice Hospital, on March 24, 2007, with her family at her side. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harry; two daughters, Brenda Rutherford (Kevin) and Marla Rubin (friend Cliff); six grandchildren, Cory (Samantha), Ryan (Natalie), Jesse, Meaghan (Nick), Kyle and Lindsay. She is also survived by her siblings, Bunny Gurvey (Gerry), Zol Pinsk (Denny), and Mona Juravsky (Sam), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Ida Pinsk and sister Goldie Adelman (Isadore), Sadie Raber (Ben), and Dora Sandell (Len). Mom was born in Regina, SK on August 27, 1923, the middle child of seven children. Prior to her marriage, Mom lived in Toronto for several years and then moved to Winnipeg to join her mother, sisters, and brother. While traveling to Calgary to visit friends, she went on a blind date, and was married six months later to Dad. Calgary now became her home for a short time. As Dad's job required him to relocate every few years, the next move was to Edmonton. By this time our family had grown to four. The following move was to Ottawa and the final move went full circle back to Winnipeg, where Mom rejoined her siblings again. Mom was a very private person. She often faced challenges and took them on with confidence (courage) and a positive attitude. Mom never complained, even in the last few years as her health became challenged. She was a stay at home Mom and made sure that our needs were met, usually surpassed. When she said she was going to do something, she never broke her promise and always stood her ground. She never interfered unless she was asked for advice and guidance and always found a way not to hurt one's feelings. She was very proud of her grandchildren's achievements. Mom was talented in many areas. She was an excellent seamstress and often made clothes for us as we were growing up. She also knit and crocheted. She magically transformed a piece of yarn into the most beautiful and intricate sweaters, shawls, and baby blankets. Her most recent endeavor was needle point and she made many magnificent pictures, two of which are hanging at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. In her mind there was always more to learn. She spent many an afternoon at Mrs. Twitchett's Eye, learning new stitches and starting new projects. She also had a green thumb, spending many hours manicuring our garden to perfection. After retirement, Mom and Dad travelled all across the United States and Mom especially loved the Carribean cruises they went on. Besides playing golf and bridge, Mom also enjoyed watching figure skating, and going to the Pops Concerts. Funeral services were held March 26, 2007 at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue.
