MAISIE E. CAREY (GODFREY) It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of our much loved wife, mother and grandmother on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the age of 76 years. After a lengthy battle with COPD, Maisie will be lovingly remembered by her husband Doug, daughters, Debbie Pansky (Tony), Susan Carey and Julie Paseschnikoff (Kon) and by her grandchildren, Sarah and Josh Pichè, Jamie Mineault and Katie, Daniel and Gregori Paseschnikoff and her twin sister Marie Farler. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Hilda, brothers, Don and Stan and son-in-law Leo. Maisie was born in Winnipeg on January 25, 1931. She and her husband Doug were married on November 16, 1956 and just celebrated 50 years of marriage. She worked as a bookkeeper in the early years and became a fulltime homemaker upon the birth of her children. Maisie's family was her life. She took great pride and pleasure in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She was happiest when she was with them. She loved gardening and flowers, sewing, knitting and crafts, cooking Sunday dinner and baking for her family. She was a kind and gentle lady. The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, in particular Dr. Bhanot and the nursing staff of the fifth floor for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's (Middlechurch) Anglican Church, 299 Balderstone Road, West St. Paul with The Rev. Fraser Hunter officiating. Interment to follow in the Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maisie's memory to the Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation or the Lung Association. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
