Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLA KRISTIN WILD Suddenly at her home in Lakeland, which is where she would have wished it, our mom and grandmother Viola Kristin Wild passed away May 1, 2007 at the age of 75. Viola is survived by daughter Sharron (Kerry) Arksey and children, Morgan and Keaton of Langruth, MB; daughter Carol (Richard) Pattee and children, Richard and Jacqueline of Victoria, BC; daughter Debbie (Paul) Wild of Ottawa, ON; son Malcolm (Jami) and children, Kiersten, Kaitlin, Kevin and McKenna of Lakeland, MB; daughter Shelley (Glen) Mitchell and children, Glen, Andrea and Michael of Carberry, MB; brother Asgar (Doris) Sigurdson of Woodside, MB; sister Helga (Eddie) Lasson of Portage la Prairie, MB; brother-in-law Ernest Eiriksson of Lakeland; sister-in-law Edythe Sigurdson of Gladstone, MB and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Wild in July 1990; son Erwin in September 1984; sister Evelyn Eiriksson in March 2003 and brother Einar Sigurdson in February 2007. Mom was born in Winnipeg on April 26, 1932, the daughter of Skapti and Runa Sigurdson of Oakview. The family moved to Lakeland in 1951. Viola taught school at Lakeside School from 1951-1953. On August 1, 1953, she married Donald Wild and they raised their six children in the family home in Lakeland. In 1974, she was hired as the municipal administrator for the Rural Municipality of Lakeview, a position she held until her retirement in 1997. She was also a licensed Autopac agent and Justice of the Peace. Her community involvements were many: Grace Lutheran Church, Order of the Royal Purple, Langruth Fall Fair, Langruth Community Club, TOPS to name a few. Since she retired, she was able to enjoy many trips both within and outside Canada, but the trip of a lifetime' was the visit she made to Iceland in 2003. Funeral services are planned for Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Grace Lutheran Church in Langruth at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Lakeland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to the Lakeland Cemetery Fund.
