HEDWIG LEOKADIA HUEMMER (nee Luther) Hedwig Huemmer passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on May 3, 2007 at the age of 74. Hedwig was born in Tomaszow, Mazowiecki, Poland on April 4, 1933. She lived in Germany and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1953. Hedwig is survived by her loving husband Erwin; son Roland (Kim); two daughters, Ramona (John) Walczak, Christine (Todd) Irwin; sisters, Erika Dranez and Irmgard Doege, and three grandchildren, Adrian, Jared Huemmer and Darek Walczak. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with an interment and reception to follow. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion given to Hedwig. If we could have one lifetime wish and one dream come true, We would pray to God with all of our hearts, Just to see and be with you. A thousand words won't bring you back, We know because we've tried, And neither will a million tears, We know because we've cried. If love could have saved you, You never would have died.
