Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESLIE GORDON BAKE Peacefully on May 1, 2007, Les passed away at the Fred Douglas Lodge at the age of 84. Les is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; daughter Barbara Brown; son Doug (Janet): grandchildren, Chris (Krista), Michael (Lilian), Erin (Jeff) and Kyle; great-grandson Noah; brother Alan (Eileen); sister Doreen; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Vivienne. Les was born on February 22, 1923 in Preston, England and came to Canada at a young age. He served overseas in the Air Force during the Second World War. He was employed at Canada Manpower and Immigration until his retirement. Les was an active member and past president of North Centennial Seniors Club and West Kildonan Curling Club. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sharon Home and Fred Douglas Lodge for their care and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Fred Douglas Lodge, 1275 Burrows Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leslie's memory to a charity of your choice.
