EDNA GRACE SUTTON (WELSH) (nee HOWARD) Peacefully, in Markham, ON on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 in her 94th year. Predeceased in 1971 by her first husband Alex Welsh of Winnipeg, MB; in 1999 by her second husband Kenneth Sutton of Victoria, BC; and her sister Phyllis in 1985. Loving mother of daughters, Judith Hodson (Alan), Heather Martino (Tony), son Alex Welsh (Janice), and stepdaughter Patricia Israel (Alfons Hughes). Mourned by five grandchildren, (Jeff Hodson, Andrea Dewire, Allyson Scott, Douglas Hodson, Julia Martino), seven step-grand-children, and five great-grandchildren. Edna was known for her love of family, curling, golf, and especially her lifelong affair with music and song. She was a past president and lifetime member of the Deer Lodge Curling Club in Winnipeg. Edna was much loved by all for her cheerful spirit, and sense of fun. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to the caregivers and staff at the Woodhaven Nursing Home in Markham for their care and compassion. They will miss their songbird. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Edna's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound.
