Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE VICTORIA WHALEN Peacefully on May 3, 2007 at Luther Home, Catherine Whalen passed away at the age of 91. Catherine was born in 1915 in Selkirk, MB. Catherine was a life long member of the R.C.L. Branch 141 and a member of the Seniors Achievement. Catherine loved bowling and bingo, but her greatest passion in life was her family. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Simon Whalen, her parents Nancy and Angus Smith and her brother Norman. Catherine leaves to mourn her ten children, Joan (Jim) Schultz, Jean (Chester) LeBoeuf, Gayle Little, Karen Switzer, Wayne (Karen) Whalen, Garry Whalen, Valerie (Rick) Thiessen, Beverly Ostash, Brenda Whalen, Sheila (Vern) Kraatz, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In keeping with Catherine's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 4000 Portage Ave. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Luther Personal Care home for their care and compassion and a special thank-you to Dr. Finlayson.
