FRANCES ELEANOR MCALLISTER (nee BORDER) (Granny Fran) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fran on Friday, May 4, 2007 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 63 years following a lengthy illness. Remaining to forever cherish Fran's memory are her husband Ian; daughters, Louise (Andrew) and Laurie (Chris); grandchildren, Preston, Kyle and Brittany Drinnan and Tyler and Nicholas Fletcher; as well as her best friends, Patti and Helen. Granny Fran enjoyed her special time babysitting her grandchildren Tyler and Nick and getting to know her three newest grandchildren. She always had hugs ready for them all and looked forward to our large family dinners, especially on Christmas morning. Fran was a member and avid volunteer of the Army Navy Air Force Veterans In Canada Unit 60 and a member of Charleswood Legion. She was active in shuffleboard and dart leagues and started the Unit 283 ladies snooker league in 1994. In compliance with Fran's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family service will take place in Ontario at a later date. The family would like to offer a very special thank you to the dedicated Cancer Care staff and to Eva, Barb and Dr. Houston at the Health Sciences Centre. Mom was impressed by your incredible compassion, dedication and professionalism. Thank you to the Riverview Health Centre staff who made Mom's last few days more comfortable. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the generous individuals who donate blood. Your gift of life allowed us all more time with Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fran's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9. Fran's arrangements have been entrusted to Manitoba's largest Original Family Owned Funeral Service Provider: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
