Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE ROSE DE GAGNE (nee VAN BLEU) Born December 19, 1913 in Ste Rose du Lac, Marie passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on May 4, 2007. Predeceased by her parents, Leonie (nee Hallewyn) and Jerome Van Bleu, husband Victor De Gagne, sister Beatrice Clegg, brother-in-laws, Albert Nuytten, Freddy Richardson and son-in-law Dennis Simoens. She will be missed by her sisters, Gertrude Nuytten, Marguerite Richardson, brother-in-law Eddy Clegg, her daughter Bernice Simoens, grandchildren, Linda Marleau (Phil), Alan Simoens (Eileen), John Simoens (Marnie) and her son Ronald De Gagne (Nancy), grand-children, Janice Harcus (Jim), Grant De Gagne and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Marie moved with her parents to St. Boniface as a small child, where she lived her entire life. She was educated at St. Joseph's Academy and married her husband Victor on August 13, 1931, with whom she raised her two children, Bernice and Ronald. She remained a devoted wife over 72 years of marriage to Victor until his passing on September 12, 2003. Marie and Victor owned and operated the Norwood Hardware Store at 220 St Mary's Rd until their retirement when they moved to their home at 22 Cedar Place enjoying retirement living until she was moved to Tache Centre Nursing home in 1997 where she remained until her passing. Marie will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 10:30 a.m in the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc Street. Interment to follow in the Belgium Sacred Heart Cemetery.
