MICHAEL JOHN BERRY SR. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael John Berry (Mike) on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the Pinawa Hospital, with his family by his side, at the age of 68 years. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Marilyn, of 48 years; his mother Doris; his children, Patricia (Rod), Michael (Wendy), Stephen (Nancy); his grandchildren, David, Ryan, Todd, Kyle, Amanda (Kurtis), Diane, Brittany and Brent; his great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brooklyn; sister in-law Eva (John), and son-in-law David Litwin. Others left to mourn his passing are his nieces, nephew and special friends. Dad was born April 7, 1939 and raised in Pembroke, ON where he met and married Mom in 1959. Dad was a good man with a heart of gold and brilliant mind. Dad focused on his loving family, he watched with pride, the development and successes of each of his children. After Dad had raised his children and endured the trials and tribulations of doing so, he turned his charm and attention on the next generation, his beloved grandchildren. Dad loved the outdoors, finding inner peace in his many years fishing and hunting, he was an avid sports enthusiast. Dad particularly enjoyed his winter vacation travelling an array of countries. Dad especially enjoyed the many years spent in Hawaii. Dad began his career working for Atomic Energy of Canada in the reactor operations branch beginning his career at Chalk River Labs in 1960. In 1964 Dad moved the family to Pinawa where he retired in 1995. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Cheryl Smith and Daryl Froese of Palliative Care and all the exceptional staff at the Pinawa Hospital. A special thank you to his doctor and friend, Dr. DeKlerk, for her care and words of comfort through this difficult time, it will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mike's memory to Pinawa Health Auxiliary, Box 82, Pinawa, MB R0E 1L0. This illness is not meant to end in death; it is going to bring glory to God for it will show the glory of the Son of God. John 11:4 I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
