BILLY JO (B.J.) OSTASH October 22, 1970 May 5, 2007 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our son B.J., Taylor's father, who died peacefully Saturday May 5, 2007 at St. Boniface Hospital, with his loving family by his side. B.J. fought an amazing four and a half year battle against cancer with great courage and determination. B.J. is survived by his precious daughter Taylor (13); his Mom and Dad, Ann and Bill; sisters, Angela (Rick), Cheryl (Roy), Colleen; nieces and nephews, Chris, Renee, Chad (Kelly), Tyler, Kelly, Stephen, Julie and his special dog Monte . Also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. B.J. graduated from Garden City Collegiate and tried his skills as a chef at Red Lobster, Madison Dell and Petersfield Hotel. He then enrolled at Red River College to become an electrician and graduated with top honours. B.J. was employed with Alco Electrical as a journeyman electrician and later as an Estimator / Project Manager. He especially enjoyed his many fishing trips with his buddy Steve and snowmobiling with the guys, also many summers at the family cottage at Victoria Beach. Special thanks to Steve, Gord, Ken and a very special neighbour, Angie, for all her help and support she gave B.J. and Taylor throughout his illness. Also thanks to Toby for being there with him during his time in the hospital. The family also wishes to thank the nurses at St. Boniface Palliative Care for providing such great care and all the doctors at CancerCare. According to B.J.'s wishes cremation has taken place with a private family interment. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Very Rev. Fr. Henry Lakusta officiating with Rev. Fr. A. Harkavyi assisting. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in B.J.'s memory to CancerCare, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
