MARY DUECK (nee HARMS) March 14, 1916 May 5, 2007 On May 5, 2007, after a long life lived in faith, hope and love, Mary Dueck passed away peacefully at Bethesda Place, Steinbach, with several of her children by her side. She is now delighting in the joys of her eternal home. Mary's life revolved around her faith, her family and her friends. She was known for her exceptionally loving, generous, and compassionate spirit; her commitment to a life of Bible study, prayer, and praising God through song; and for an ever-present spirit of gratitude which continued right to the end of her life. Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank in 1989, as well as many others, she leaves behind six daughters and five sons to remember and celebrate her life: Doreen (Doug) Reddekop, John (Sandra) Dueck, Peter (Sally) Dueck, Laurence (Susan) Dueck, Leona (Peter) Penner, Mary (Larry) Plett, Evelyn (Leonard) Martens, Glen (Judy) Dueck, Bernice (Allan) Kroeker, Betty (David) Dawson, Eldon (Lynnette) Dueck; 34 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; five sisters and four brothers, and sister-in-law, plus many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Bethesda Place staff who lovingly cared for Mom and showed extraordinary compassion for all of us during the last few days as she gracefully slipped homewards. The funeral service will be at the Steinbach Evangelical Mennonite Church, Main Street at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9 with viewing on Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee (phone 261-6381), or a charity / mission of your choice. STEINBACH FUNERAL HOME 204-326-1351
