LILA J. FORRESTER Lila passed away peacefully at Kildonan Personal Care Centre on Monday, May 7, 2007 at the age of 81 years. Lila was born and raised in Emerson, Manitoba. In 1945, she married William (Bill) Forrester and they farmed in the Marais and Letellier District until 1961, when they moved to Winnipeg. Lila was a member of Eastern Star Queen Winnipeg Chapter No. 1. She was also involved in amateur radio VE4LIL, and became an honourary member of the Winnipeg Senior Citizens Radio Club. Lila was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1993. She is survived by her sisters, Winnifred Jones of West Covina, CA and Louise (Bill) Burns of Albany, NY, her brother-in-law Leslie (Kathie) of Emerson, sisters-in-law, Thelma Forrester of Emerson, Jean Hewko and Ruth Breckman of Winnipeg. Lila also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. At her request there will be no service. There will be a private gathering of relatives and friends at a later date at the Emerson Cemetery where her ashes will be interred beside her husband. The family thanks the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Centre for their excellent care and attention they provided to Lila during her stay there.
