Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY E. TENNANT Mary, dearly beloved sister of Jean Pugh, passed away at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg on Saturday, May 5, 2007. Mary was born at Russell, Manitoba on October 23, 1921, the eldest child of James and Ivy Tennant (Ennor). Mary grew up on a farm in the Russell-Binscarth area and went to Woodstock School. After completing her schooling, Mary worked with her parents on the farm. Mary had a love for music and played piano (she acquired her ATCM) and violin. Mary and Jean, her sister, played with others at old time dances, etc. After Mary's Dad passed away in 1949, the family farm was sold and the family moved to Shoal Lake. They left Shoal Lake after three years and moved to Brandon where Jean's husband moved to a farm in the Brandon Hills area. Mary adored her nephews and was always there when they needed her. She taught some music lessons and also helped look after her Mother. Her Mother passed away in 1979 and the family moved onto a farm in the Justice area. Mary did some teacher's aide work and helped on the farm. Her health declined nearly three years ago and Mary spent time in the hospital and at the Misericordia Health Centre in Winnipeg. A memorial service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332 - 8th Street, Brandon, on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dwight Rutherford of Binscarth United Church officiating. All in attendance will be considered Honorary Pallbearers. A reception will follow at the George Brockie Fellowship Centre all are welcome to attend. After the reception, the family will proceed to Russell, Manitoba for the interment of Mary's ashes on her Mother's grave in the Russell Cemetery. If friends wish, donations, in memory of Mary, may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 727B - 10th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 4G7.
