PAUL DEDA It is with deep sadness, that we announce the passing of Paul, beloved husband, father and Papa at the Riverview Health Centre on May 7, 2007 at the age of 84 years. After a brief and courageous battle with cancer he passed away peacefully and with dignity with his wife at his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Irene of 54 years, his daughter Marilyn and husband Robert, his son Gregory and wife Lorie, and his three grandchildren, Ryan, David and Christina. Paul was born in Winnipeg on December 31, 1922 to Harry and Tekla Deda who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his brother Peter. He graduated from Isaac Newton High School and worked for the Province of Manitoba, Department of Highways as an Engineer Aide 4 (Surveyor) from 1955 to 1988. During his retirement Paul enjoyed bowling at Mosienko Bowling Alley. He was a terrific bowler with many 300 games and high score of 420. Paul enjoyed spending a lot of time outdoors in the summer tending to his vegetable garden, his plants and fruit trees. Paul was a perfectionist even while he was quite ill in the hospital. He expected his cards to be arranged on the bulletin board according to size and his clothes sorted and folded in the drawers. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the visitors who came to visit Paul at Seven Oaks Hospital and at the Riverview Health Centre. He really enjoyed the visits, especially when someone could take him outdoors on a beautiful spring day and watch the squirrels at play. Special thanks to the staff at the Riverview Health Centre for your care and compassion during his final days. Pallbearers will be Ryan Kowalchuk, David Kowalchuk, Kevin O'Neill, Kenneth Kuchma, Robert Moroz, and Ron Moroz. Honorary pallbearer will be John Lamprecht. Paul and Irene are members of St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 820 Burrows Avenue. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, with Rev. Fr. Jaroslaw Buciora officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the Riverview Health Centre or a charity of your choice. VICHNAYA PAM'YAT CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
