WILLIAM SKAZYK April 15, 1928 May 6, 2007 With great sadness in our hearts we, the entire family have had to say goodbye for now to our precious father, Gee Gee, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and dear friend Bill. He entered into the arms of our Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2007. Bill will be lovingly remembered and missed so much by his daughter Doreen and grandson Kelly, son-in-law Norman, son Bob and daughter-in-law Cheryl-Dawn and grandsons, Jarrod (Bridget) and Keith (Meaghan), sister Anne (Henry), brothers, Harold (Lillian), Peter (Frances), Walter (Pinky) and Dad's and our special dear friend Grace. Bill will also be lovingly missed by brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews of the Chabluk family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Elsie in April, 1978 and his parents, Alexander and Lena. Bill was born in Rossdale on April 15, 1928 where he lived most of his life until recent years when he moved into Selkirk. He had many friends at the Knights of Columbus Centre where he lived and this was most evident by the numerous visitors he had from the Centre during his stay in the hospital. He will be very much missed there at the card table with his witty sense of humour and jokes. Dad was a hard worker providing for his family's needs, and most of all, he took care of us with an awesome love and taught us to be loving and kind to all with his laid-back, tolerant and unconditional ways. Truly a treasure. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. in the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rossdale. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill's grandsons, Kelly, Jarrod and Keith, and his nephews, Donald, Gordon and Greg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's name to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3C 2B7. The family would like to extend a very heartfelt, grateful thank you to Dr. Antonenko, Dr. Fuchs and the nursing staff at the Selkirk and District General Hospital for their incredible loving care of our Dad and all of us. Also special thanks to Wes and staff at Gilbart Funeral Home. We'll always remember Dad's two favourite sayings Wait a minute and Why not . God Bless you Dad. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
