DORIS ELEANOR MATTSON (nee LARSEN) February 4, 1922 May 5, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Grandma DoDo on May 5, 2007 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She fought a courageous battle against breast cancer with dignity, hope and humour. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Karen (Gerald); grandsons, (her pride and joy) Corey and Matthew; son Dale (Karen); baby brother Ed (Linda); brother-in-law Jim; nieces, Andrea (Larry), Cathy (Carl) with sons, Sean and Joel, Terri (Harry); nephews, Don (Cindy) with daughters, Kyra and McKenna, Gary (Sue); good friends, Tootsie, Joan, John, Lynne, June, Eileen, Dody, Bill, Cheryl: all her good neighbours at Sunka Place and many more friends and family. After raising her children Doris worked with the Department of Agriculture for 20 years from which she retired in November 1986 and made many good friends there. She loved jazz, golf, bowling and travelling, but especially loved her time laughing with her family. She was surrounded by her devoted family during her final days. We would like to thank everyone who helped Mom along her final journey. She was surrounded by love and words cannot express how much it has meant to our family. Good neighours, Terry and Fran who were there everyday to check in with Mom and all her other good neighbours (friends) who dropped by with treats and for chats. Lunch buddy Cheryl whose time she gave without a thought. We thank Mom's homecare girls whom helped with loving care. A special thanks to Dr. Daeninck and all his staff for helping Mom share in many more wonderful moments. Thanks to all the gals in the St. Boniface CancerCare Treatment Centre for all their kindness and support, and thanks to all at St. Boniface 6A for their care for Mom in her final days. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter Dynevor Anglican Old Stone Church in East Selkirk with The Rev. Ted Nimik presiding. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at the St. Peter's Churchyard Cemetery. The Church is located north on Hwy. 59 (28 kms past perimeter, then west on Hwy. 4 for two kms, then south on Hwy 508 - watch for church sign on the right.)
