STEVE KOZAK It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Steve Kozak at his residence in Medika, MB on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at the age of 95 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his four sons: Mike (Shirley), Bill (Shirley), Eddy (Patsy) and Leo (Marlene); two brothers, John and Philip (Helen); three sisters-in-law, Pauline and Alice Kozak and Sally Domish; as well as 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years of marriage, Anne (Domish) in 1995; one daughter in infancy; parents, Jacob and Pauline; four brothers, Fred, Mike (Mary), Harry, Pete (Kay); one sister and one sister-in-law Mary and one grandson in infancy. After he retired from farming, Steve enjoyed various hobbies such as dip netting, hunting, Bingo, pool and playing cards. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as gardening, which involved supplying vegetables to all his grandchildren and famous pumpkins to Kozak's Place; and picking chokecherries for making wine for the pool players. Steve was very determined and strong willed and would not let a hip replacement keep him from playing his beloved pool. He always insisted on being as independent as possible. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hadashville Recreational Centre with Rev. Fr. Douglas Leclair presiding. Interment will follow at the Hadashville Ukrainian Catholic Church cemetery followed by a reception at the Hadashville Recreational Centre. Honourary pallbearers will be Steve's grandsons, Michael, Ryan, Kyle, Jeff, Derek and Evan Kozak. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Steve's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
