VICTOR JACK SHEWCHUK December 6, 1938 - May 8, 2007 It is with great sadness, the family announces the sudden death of Vic Shewchuk (of Portage La Prairie, originally from Winnipeg, MB (and formerly of Okanagan Falls, Campbell River and Greater Vancouver, BC). Left to mourn his untimely passing are his beloved partner in life Irene (Chewka) of Portage, his only son Todd (wife Darcy) and grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew and Melissa of Winnipeg. Also grieving his passing are his three stepchildren, Trevor Chewka (partner Jackie) of Winnipeg, Denise Chewka of Sooke, BC and Shannon (husband Derek and infant son Ryder) Stadnichuk of Clarksville, MD, USA as well as his brother Lloyd (wife Levine) of Nanaimo, BC, nephews, Derek, Kurt and Ryan, numerous relatives, friends and acquaintances spread throughout North America. The Shewchuk and Chewka families would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at both the Portage General Hospital and the St. Boniface General Hospital Emergency Department and ICU for their excellent care and dedication. Memorial services have been entrusted to Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West. A celebration of Vic's life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2007. In lieu of flowers, the families would welcome donations to either CancerCare Manitoba (1-877-407-2223) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (1-888-473-4636).
