KITCHUR 1922 2007 Tom Kitchur, beloved husband of Lucile, father to Andrea, Maureen, Tim, and Kelly, passed away, peacefully, on January 6, 2007 at 84 years young. Tom was born in Gypsumville, MB on May 3, 1922. At age 19 he joined the R.C.A.F. and served overseas as a navigator. Upon his return he joined the Manitoba Government Auditing Department, but his Chartered Accountancy career was cut short by a head injury sustained while playing his beloved baseball. He played for the C.U.A.C. Blues, Elmwood Giants and the Winnipeg's. One of the highlights of his life was his induction into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. In 1950, following the flood he moved to Snow Lake, MB where he was employed by the Howe Sound Exploration Co., it is also there that Tom met and married Lucile Macdonald. After moving back to Winnipeg in 1956 he established his own business until 1982. He enjoyed his retirement for many years at Victoria Beach, MB and Dunedin, FL, but his last years were spent closer to his children in Chase, BC and Didsbury, AB. Tom had a lifelong love of sports including his years curling at the Thistle Curling Club and golfing at the Assiniboine Golf Club and Victoria Beach, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, Sylvester and Rose; brother Mac and sisters, Stella, Jean and Mary. Tom is survived by Lucile, his wife of 55 years and his four children; daughter-in-law Ruth; son-in-law Brian; as well as, his grandsons, Trevor and Daniel; sister-in-law Erna Kitchur; as well as, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m., May 18, 2007, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. 982 - 8100.
