DAVID GARRY EASTOE October 7, 1950 - May 7, 2007 Peacefully, after a short battle with lung cancer, David passed away on May 7, 2007 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 56 years. David was predeceased by his father Lindsay in July 2005. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Phyllis, son Gordon, daughter Allyson (John) Van Dinther, mother Edith, and brother Greg. David grew up in Elmwood, and began his 31 year police career on June 17, 1970 with East Kildonan, then the City of Winnipeg after amalgamation. He retired from the Winnipeg Police Service in April 2001, and spent six years enjoying what he called the best years of his life . His most treasured memories were his trip to Australia with his wife in 2006, and more recently his daughter's wedding on April 30, 2007. Cremation has taken place. In accordance with his wishes there will be no formal service. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Friends are invited to a gathering at the family home on Monday, May 14 anytime between 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations may be made in David's name to a charity of one's choice.
