Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOIS BETH GARD (nee KRALL) June 5, 1942 May 8, 2007 With great sorrow we announce the passing of Lois Gard Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Seven Oaks General Hospital. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Lois is survived by her husband Mike, her children, Brent, Jayson (Sherry), Kyla (Dave), and Daneal as well as the nine brightest lights of her life, her grandbabies as she liked to call them, Ellana, Alyssah, Ashley, Kayden, Pierce, Crue, Jack, Luke, and Matt. She was born and raised in Winnipeg, and she and Mike settled and raised their family in the Maples. Lois began her career as a lab technologist at Cadham Lab and later took a position at Seven Oaks General Hospital. She was proud of her work and enjoyed her job, as well as her many colleagues that became friends over the years. The pride of her life was her family. She had a special relationship with all four of her children and would do anything for them. Her pure joy however, was her grandbabies. The greatest sadness for her in regards to her illness was that she felt as though she was deserting her children and that she wouldn't be here to see her grandbabies grow and be part of their lives. She was happiest with a chaotic house full of family, pets, and friends, and always had enough to feed the unannounced extras we had the habit of bringing. We recall with great fondness all of the special weekends, holidays and summers spent together. We travelled much of the country, camping along the way, spent vacations in Palm Springs, and had a memorable cruise for our parents 25th anniversary. The most precious times for us were the summers at the lake'. Mom spent many summers with us at Farlane, ON. There was nothing like a cool drink on the dock, a magical sunset, and her family all together. In addition to many others, Lois had three especially close friends for all of her adult life. She treasured the MTC nights, celebrations, and camaraderie of her great friends Sandra, Donna and Liz. Lois stressed that having these friendships was truly a blessing. Liz was a lifelong friend, and she and Marcel have gone above and beyond the last few months and have been an incredible comfort and support to the entire family. Thank you also to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassionate care. The daily cups of coffee left by her colleagues were much appreciated. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 14, 2007 at 11:00 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation, 2300 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, MB R2V 3M3. Lois, grandma and mom: we love you, miss you, and will keep you close in our hearts and memories forever. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
