Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY JANE LOCKE Peacefully, on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at the Lloyd Locke Care Centre, Dorothy Locke passed away at the age of 90 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children, daughter Marlene Friesen (Peter) of Winnipeg, son Mervyn (Mary) of Lindsay, Ontario, son-in-law Paul Wilson of Clandeboye, Manitoba; grandchildren, Paul Wilson (Colleen), Michael Wilson (Nina), Susan Wilson, Lynn Friesen (Jared), Mark Friesen (Kim), Laura Friesen and Jonathan Locke, great-grandchildren, Joshua and Evan Wilson, Samantha Wilson, Kathryn Johnson, Shannon and Allison Harrigan, Ellen and Jesse Friesen, Brayden and Carter Friesen. Dorothy will also be missed by her sisters, Alice of Ennis, Texas, Milly of Stettler, Alberta and by her brother Frank of South Bend, Indiana. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, her eldest daughter Laurena Wilson, her parents, Francis and Fredrick Forsey, brothers, Fred, William and George and sisters, Florence, May and Edith. She was a strong and energetic woman who had a zest for life and a passion for family and friends. When she gave one of those bone-crushing hugs, you knew you were loved. Mom was educated at the Manitoba School for the Deaf where she was trained as a seamstress and where she met Lloyd. Their marriage of 56 years produced a very close-knit family in which mom showed that she was a good wife, a good homemaker, and a great cook. Mom spent her final 14 years at the Lloyd Locke Care Centre. It is to the nurses and staff at the centre that the family extends a special grace-note of heartfelt appreciation for the many kindnesses and thoughtfulnesses to her. Thanks mom for your love. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 14, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Deaf Centre Manitoba, 285 Pembina Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations to Camp Kakepitay, Winnipeg Church of the Deaf, 232 - 285 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2E1 would be appreciated.
