LUIGI CISTARELLI November 9, 1929 May 11, 2007 It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our husband, father, and nonno on May 11, 2007 at the age of 77. He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife Anna with whom he shared 49 years, his children, Maria (Brian) of Calgary, Trina (Gary) of Calgary, Joe (Bev) of Winnipeg, Laura (Don) of Selkirk; his grandchildren, Donovan, Matthew, Kelsey, Brooke, Madison, Garrett, Jordan, Alex; and his sisters, Nina (Camillo) of Winnipeg and Giovanna of Belgium, and a large extended family. Born in Giulianova, Italy on November 9, 1929, he immigrated to Canada in 1956, making his way to Winnipeg where he met his future wife. Luigi worked in the construction industry until his retirement. Dad enjoyed working in his garden tending his prized tomatoes, working on his Christmas light display, making / drinking / sharing his vino and spending his summers for the past 36 years at the Oasis with family and friends. He lived for his family and was a proud Canadian. Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 16 at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing, donations may be made in Luigi's memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Inc. or the Canadian Lung Association. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
