ERNEST ROBERT DELAQUIS It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa Ernest Robert Delaquis on Friday, May 11, 2007 at the Taché Centre at the age of 75 years. Ernest will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years; Antoinette; and his six children, Denise (Luc) Boulet, Alfred, Rose-Marie (Claude) Robidoux, Jeannine (Kelly) Smith, Yves, Roger (Audrey); his grand-children, Wesley (Carla), Brigitte, Darcy (Jolene), Ryan (Sylvie), Eric, Nathan, Stephanie, Janelle, and Richard; great-grandchildren, Elise and Cedrik; brother Gabriel and sister Liliane as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ernest was predeceased by his parents, Pierre and Marie (Fauchère); his siblings, Maurice, Marcel, Clémentine, Alice, Charles, as well as numerous in-laws. Ernest was born and raised in Notre Dame de Lourdes on May 26, 1931 where he served as both a councillor and Mayor; he also worked for the Province of Manitoba Highways department for 30 years as a grader operator. Ernest loved fishing, music, he especially loved playing the harmonica and organ. He had a great sense of humour and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of the St. Boniface Hospital and Taché Centre for the care and compassion they gave to Ernest, especially to the staff of the Dialysis Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital. A funeral mass celebrating Ernest's life will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Ernest may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation, Dialysis Unit, D1003-409 Taché Ave. Winnipeg, MB. R2H 2A6.
