Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCALVIN BRUCE WHITEHEAD It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Calvin, at 51 years of age, on Friday, May 11, 2007 at his home. Remaining to forever cherish Calvin's memory are his beloved wife of 24 years, Dianne; daughter Crystal; son Cameron; brother Dave (Evelyn); many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his father Gordon (Bud) in 1985, and his mother Barbara in 1999. Calvin worked at the Grace Hospital for 20 years as an activity assistant and was also involved with the union. He was union president for seven years, until his ill health forced him into early retirement. Graduating from Tech Voc, Calvin then attended the University of Winnipeg, but quit to help with the family business. He was in the Air Cadets and traveled to Pen Hold, AB to attend Air Cadet camp. A member of Police and Pal, Calvin obtained his marksmanship in rifle shooting competition. Calvin loved vacationing, he surprised Dianne in 1991 with a trip to Las Vegas, took his family to Black Hills, SD in 1992 and Disney World in Orlando, Florida in 1994. His favourite pastimes were fishing, where he enjoyed a seasonal spot at Betula Lake, and staying at Rick and Debbie's cabin in Kenora. His idea of relaxing was to listen to radio shows and sports, and enjoyed audio books. Calvin also loved to golf in the years before his illness made this difficult to continue. As a collector of many treasures he continued on a collection of his father's, also starting his own collection of cards, and collectables. Calvin's funeral service will be held on Friday, May 18 at 3:00 p.m. in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue (Corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). For those who wish, parking will be available in the Seventh Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. David and Robert Gaumond, and Ellen and Melissa Whitehead will act as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be submitted in Calvin's memory to C.N.I.B. Calvin's arrangements have been entrusted to Manitoba's largest Original Family Owned Funeral Service Provider: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
