Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIDA LOUISE SPREEN (nee SINGBEIL) November 3, 1919 May 15, 2007 Ida Spreen, formerly of Grand Marais, passed away at her home in Winnipeg on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the age of 87. Ida is survived by her three daughters, Louise (Joe) Kennedy, Marlene (Mike) Korol and Margaret Rach; her son Henry Spreen; her grandchildren, Stephen, Kathy (Mario), Michelle (Adam), Kevin (Corinne), Robert (Danielle), Selina (Todd), Rhonda (Greg), Rob (Lisa); her great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jade, Gloria, Donica, Deliccia, Destiny, Joey, Nick, Tyler, Carter, Payton and Ashley. She is also survived by her brother Wally (Flo) Singbeil; sisters-in-law, Edna, Margaret and Darlene; many nieces, nephews, cousins; step- grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and by special family friend Gerald Brown. Ida was predeceased by her husband Martin, her son in-law Lorne Rach, her parents, Henrich and Martha Singbeil, her brothers, Julius and Egon, her sister Eleanor, her sisters-in-law, Adela and Helen and her brothers-in-law, Nick, Fred, George, Bill and Walter. Ida was born in Saskatchewan and raised in Winnipeg. She married Martin in 1940 and settled in Grand Marais. Her life was raising her four children, being a devoted wife and mother and teaching her children how to handle life situations. She was the backbone of the family and was a special person to her children. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. The family extends heartfelt thanks for the care and compassion shown to their mother by the Caretaker of her block and the Home Care Workers and special friends at Kildonan Horizons. Flowers declined with grateful thanks.
