MARGARET (NANCY) DUNLOP (nee SPENCE) March 17, 1917 - May 15, 2007 It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother, Nana and Great-nana on May 15, 2007 at West Park Manor. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sally (Doug) Biggs, Judy (Jeff) Wignall, and son Jeff (Wendy); grandchildren, Ken Biggs, Paul Biggs, Christopher (Dayna) Biggs, Jennifer (Cal)Teetaert, Scott Wignall, Alison (Date) Kingerski and Patrick Dunlop; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Connor, Liam, Zoe, Isabel, Rylee and Chelsea; brothers, Alwin and Harold (Joyce); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Bill; her parents, Harold and Ada; her sister Constance; and her sister-in-law Madge. Mom met Dad while he was serving overseas during the Second World War and they were married in December of 1940. After the war, Mom immigrated to Canada and she and Bill raised their family in the Fort Rouge area. Mom loved her Church and was a very active, hard working member of the UCV until her health prevented her participation. She was one of the original members of the British Wives Club that was formed after the Second World War. She was an avid bowler and was delighted to have been on the Seniors Provincial Champions team in 1991. She enjoyed many years of Saturday night card games with friends and neighbours. In later years she found much enjoyment in watching curling and tennis on television. She was a wonderful knitter and spent years knitting tiny hats for Children's Hospital, as well as afghans and sweaters that family and friends still enjoy. Everyone who knew Mom will remember her special sense of humour and her ability to enjoy everyday life to the fullest. Mom enjoyed her very special times spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the many homecare workers over the years and to the wonderful, compassionate staff at West Park Manor where Mom called home the last two years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, May 18, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Harrow United Church, located at the corner of Harrow and Mulvey. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Harrow United Church or Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of your choice. Mom's favourite poem was The Daffodils by William Wordsworth: I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd. A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. - We'll miss you Mom and your wonderful smile!
