PETER J. KUNTZ After a lengthy and courageous war with leukemia and its complications, Peter Kuntz peacefully passed away on May, 15, 2007. Peter leaves to cherish his memory wife Rita; brothers, Bernie (Marion), George (Dianne); sisters, Helen (Herb) and Rose Mary; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Peter was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna; brothers, John (Jr.), Edward; sister Kay; nephews, Derek, Gordon; mother-in-law and father-in-law Marcel and Helen Bretecher. Peter was born on December 14, 1925, and was a lifetime resident of Winnipeg. Peter was a man of strong faith. He enjoyed nature, reading and sports. He was an avid ten-pin bowler. Another pleasure was attending the Winnipeg Blue Bomber football games, wrestling matches, and going to Assiniboia Downs on Sunday afternoons. Many thanks to the Riverview Health Centre and Grace Hospice. They treated him as a person living with cancer, gave him the precious gifts of dignity, grace and hope. The care and empathy that the staff displays is astounding. Thank you to Dr. M. Cameron and Nurse Bernice for the care and kindness for the last ten years. You are all angels. With consolation, we know he has now found peace. A service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Flowers graciously declined.
